Gulliver’s Valley has announced it will be hosting a series of band nights as it looks to host live events at the Rotherham theme park.
Kick starting this new venture will be a supper club evening, organised by TJ Entertainment Promotions, featuring popular local band, The Acoustic Angels.
The evening entertainment, which costs £25 per person, includes a pie and pea dinner accompanied by fantastic live music from the Acoustic Angels who are fronted by John Reilly, original singer, songwriter and recording artist from Boy on a Dolphin. It will be held on Friday 9 July from 7.30-11.30pm.
Opened in June 2020, the 250-acre resort has faced challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic but with confidence now increasing for a return to more normal activities soon, Gulliver’s Valley is looking to the future once again and hoping to bring more opportunities to the local area benefiting the economy.
Under the name ‘Venue in the Valley’, the plan, as covid restrictions ease, is for the resort to expand on its current offering by providing space for a whole host of new and exclusive entertainment experiences including drive-in movies, live music nights, sports tournaments, community festivals and charity fun runs.
Dean Kimberley, director of Guest Services at Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “Gulliver’s Valley was never just about being a theme park, we always planned to make best use of the resources we have here in terms of the facilities and space available, and working with other partners, businesses and attractions in this area, spearhead the regeneration of Rother Valley. We want to create more jobs for local people and put Gulliver’s Valley firmly on the map as a tourist, leisure and hospitality destination.
“We have already held some successful drive thru cinemas and now we’re excited to be working with TJ Entertainment Promotions to bring the live band nights, starting with the Acoustic Angels, to the resort. They are a fabulous local band and we hope people will enjoy the entertainment and food on offer and join us for what is set to be a wonderful evening.”
Other music nights planned include a live 12-piece showband night with food and a DJ on Saturday 21 August along with a Music Masters evening with a live band playing great songs from the late 50s and 60s to be held on Saturday 24 September.
